Embark on a 2-week long adventure complete with on and off-site excursions to explore scientific wonders, forge leadership skills, and celebrate community amid the natural world. During this outdoor-based camp, campers will gain scientific exploration skills while building connections with their peers and the Riverbanks team. Campers will enjoy exciting experiences including behind-the-scenes tours, guest speakers, an overnight at the zoo, and off-site adventures to explore local wildlife.

Adult Garden Workshop Bonsai 101

Join the Riverbanks Botanical Garden for a hands-on Bonsai 101 workshop. This event is suitable for anyone interested in dabbling in the art of Bonsai cultivation. This workshop will be led by Kyle Purvis, owner/operator of HoneyHill Bonsai Growers nursery near Charleston, SC, where he collects, field-grows, and develops bonsai material suitable for southeastern bonsai. Each participant will receive a tree specifically selected for bonsai training, a suitable training pot, soil, a water sensor and instruction to create a beautiful bonsai tree. During the workshop, participants will be guided through the initial potting and styling of their tree, including future training strategies.
